The boss

Hey guys, get this. Hypothetical. The boss comes in one day and says, "Hey, I'm changing my policies. Welcome to hope and change." Then 15 months later, he's seeing that the policies aren't popular. People are grumbling and saying nasty things about the policies. So does he un-do the policies.... no, he orders the employees to go out and promote his policies.

Would you consider it improper if your boss did that to you? How would that make you feel? Would you feel obligated to do it to keep your job, or would you try to buck the system? Would you try to get up a class action against that kind of discrimination?

That's pretty much S.O.P. in most work places. In my office, we have a certain way of "doing things". Middle level management has a different way, and upper level has a different way as well. The policies change monthly, sometime back to a policy we had 3 months earlier.
Bottom line is I do want they want me to do, and I pick up my paycheck at the end of the week. What is lost in this method of "doing business" is me and my co-workers going the extra mile, we do what we have to do, no more.
Crappy way of doing business, but that's the way it is these days.
