We bought this bike a week ago, and are planning to take it out tomorrow. Yesterday, we went to test it, and where the last couple times it kicked started first try, it wouldn't start at all. Where the exhaust meets the engine, it's spewing gas and oil. It looks like there should be two springs there, and there's not, but I can't see how one would magically disappear. We have gas (obviously) and we have spark (painfully) but now we're stuck. I don't know the first thing to try. Suggestions?

Yes, there should be two springs connecting the exhaust to the cylinder. If there is gas coming from that area then you defiantly have an issue. If you have any gas coming from anywhere, you have an issue. I would take the pipe off and empty it. Take off the carb and clean it. Take out the spark plug and turn the bike upside down and turn the engine over to get all of the gas out of the bottom of the engine. Clean the carb and set the float height.
