I haven't ridden in 3 weeks! I loaded up the truck 3 weekends ago, went into town, fueled up, grabbed some cash for the track, got breakfast at Mickey D's. While I was pulling out of the drive-thru I heard a hissing noise. I'd hoped it was from the guy behind me. 100 yards later I saw the steam coming from under the hood. Got out, looked under the truck to find a lot of antifreeze coming from the rear of the engine. I filled the radiator and limped her home. Got out the flashlight and saw a stream of coolant coming from the back of the driver side cylinder head. I figured I puked and intake or a head gasket so I parked it. Went out yesterday with a flashlight and a mirror, and found that it was only a freeze plug that was leaking. I'm assuming it rusted through cuz it was spewing from the center of the plug. So good news is not a bad head gasket. Bad news is its the freeze plug on the head, and it's 2 inches from the firewall. I ordered an Dorman expandable rubber plug, but now I gotta figure out how to punch the freeze plug through or out. Anyone got any idea's? By the time I get back to the track its gonna be 110 outside.
