I like the idea, especially for tighter trails or beginning riders. On the bigger rigs I far prefer using a larger rear sprocket as opposed to a smaller front one. On the smaller two xr's the added wear never seems to be a problem even when hauling a larger person around. usually I don't suggest old chains and a used rear sprocked be used with a fresh front (countershaft sprocket), but in this case again a chain that doesn't have movement in the rollers on their own pins (side to side movement) is acceptable. cheap 428 chain runs about 16.00 where i get mine so I don't let it go too long, but it isn't as critical as the larger rigs.
