Other Sprocket sizes

I like the idea, especially for tighter trails or beginning riders. On the bigger rigs I far prefer using a larger rear sprocket as opposed to a smaller front one. On the smaller two xr's the added wear never seems to be a problem even when hauling a larger person around. usually I don't suggest old chains and a used rear sprocked be used with a fresh front (countershaft sprocket), but in this case again a chain that doesn't have movement in the rollers on their own pins (side to side movement) is acceptable. cheap 428 chain runs about 16.00 where i get mine so I don't let it go too long, but it isn't as critical as the larger rigs.

I broke down and put a 50 tooth on the back of my yz250 and left the 15 on the front. it pulls well for the slow stuff and sings out on top really well.

You can play around by getting 2 or 3 cheap sprockets and see what you like best for the riding you do, then go ahead and put on a quality sprocket when you know the gearing you like.
