Sprocket Sizes for street riding?

Hey guys. Need a bit of help choosing sprocket sizes for street riding. The current stock gearing is 14/50, but I want a little less RPM when I'm cruising along the streets(I want the bike to not be so high in the rev range).
I don't want to go too much smaller with the rear, as I will still be taking the bike dirt riding.
What gearing do people recommend?
I was thinking of going with the 48t rear sprocket, instead of the 50, but how much of a difference will 2 less teeth make in lowering the RPM?
I'm open to options and ideas, just as long as I don't go too short with the sprockets or gearing, that will still be decent enough for dirt riding.
Bike is a KTM 450 EXC 2004 model with 6 gears.

If I have the appropriate size impact, I'll use it 100% of the time to take stuff apart. With that said, putting it together is opposite, never use a impact to reassemble anything critical, or into aluminum threads.
