It is a good site. Filled with young pumped up guys who hash on the city streets and canyons. Yep, I went on ONE of their rides. ONE! Then I mentioned someone is going to die after I went on that ride. I got shit for it. Then two weeks later it happened. A young 20 something guy and his Father crashed head on with a Suburban on Topanga Cyn., Son died Father lost his leg. They had traveled from up North to come ride the beautiful canyons of Malibu. They probably thought it was going to be a fun day of riding and sightseeeing. But led by a pack of pumped up guys who know the canyons well, there was zero sight seeing. It was just enough for them to keep up with the group. Tragic! And after this, a guy said in the forum we should have a "A" group and a "B" group next time. Not even a second thought to the fact they were in race mode, pack style riding in canyons filled with homes and driveways. That kind of pack racing needs to stay on the track. I know I shouldnt talk as I tend to ride too fast in the canyons too but, 3 went down on the first half of that ride. I think they started with 20 something riders. They ended up in 3 groups and the guy who started the ride was bailed on! Thoughtless! Nobody looking out for anyone. A good source for SM info but, I'll stick with small group rides with people I know a little better. That was just my experience. Im sure there ARE some good people over there.
