Rmx 1998 two banga clutch issues!

Hi everyone
When the bike is not running and in gear pulling clutch lever back wont engage clutch. Starting the bike in neutral and clicking into first works fine doesnt stall

Iv opened up the clutch casing and checked the rings they are all ok. The basket looks fine too. Tried adjusting the cable, still nothing. Changed the oil a few weeks ago was running fine until I had a small fall on it. No damage just this stupid clutch. Not sure if these things are related.

Sounds correct to me. When the oil is 'cold' it can be tough to get the clutch plates to slip freely. Especially if you like a 'loose' clutch setting.

RMX is a great bike to own. Hard to find because no one wants to give them up.

A couple things can happen. The basket and hub notch causing a hang up. The plates warp from over heating causing a hang up and depending on the setup the pressure bar will become gun led up and need to be cleaned or it may be bent. I'm willing to bet a warped plate or notched basket.
Also Dan is correct about a cold clutch. Are you running Suzuki 10w40 in the tranny?
