RM 250 clutch issue

I have a 98 rm250. My problem with the clutch is that I cant start out easy without the bike jerking hard. I have to pop the clutch. Im considering new clutch kit. Anyone have any other ideas?

New basket, hub and plates. Wiseco makes the best one. Oem is the cheapest hard parts but get tusk plates from Rocky Mountain.

Do you think it could just be plates?

Never.
At the very least it's a notched basket. Sometimes you can get a couple more rides out of the basket if you file out the notches but chatter and lurching means replace parts.

OK, thanks.. ive replaced plates before. but never took basket off. I wont need any special tools for that will i?
