I had a buddy of mine go over the bars 20 years ago out there and we put him in a truck and drove him to the fire station in Lucerne Valley because he was so messed up. They took him to the hospital and then proceeded to airlift him to another place because he had broken his back. We should have never moved him as it could have done more damage but we thought we did the right thing at the time. He has steel rods in his back now but he still goes riding. In fact, he was with the gang and me at Spangler looking for the Easter Bunny last weekend.
