Most* people can not do the labor on the valves, unlike the 2 stroke rebuild, bringing the cost up even higher. All in all my conclusions show that the maintenance is about double in the motor department, but other factors off set that. 2 strokes eat tires faster, need pipe o-rings, and all bikes 2 or 4 stroke need chains,sprockets, bearings etc etc..... Cost of ownership is not significantly different in the long run.</p></blockquote><p></p>
