I wanna get a key switch for my yz 250 so i can keep it at friends house closer to track. I dont want anyone else to ride it. Is it possible

you could just buy a rotor lock for it,but yeah it is possible to put a keyed switch on it.

you can wire one right in to the wire leading to the coil. the one the kill switch grounds.

I wouldn't put a key on it, that is one thing you do not need going south and then you can't start it. Just buy a rotor lock.

easily reversed, but that is probably what will make it ineffective too.

the easiest type go in-line in the kill switch circuit...unplug the existing wires and put the key in-line. Of course its just as easy to reverse it if you know that's how it works.

A key sounds like a weak attempt to prevent someone from riding it as all they have to do is bypass it and fire it up. The best thing in my opinion as well as others is get a good lock for the brake rotor and it will not move unless someone has a spare wheel. :prof:
