Higher Wattage Headlight Bulbs ok to use?

hey guys.
Looking at possibly changing the headlight bulb over to a 55/60w Halogen H4 from the stock 35/35w, for more light for when riding at night. Not looking at changing the types of lighting.
Just wondering if it's ok to put higher wattage bulbs in, with no negative effects?
And will the extra heat burn the plastic headlight reflector or anything?

My bike is fitted with an aftermarket higher powered stator and rectifier.

Bike is a KTM EXC 2004 model.

It should be OK, but do those KTM's actually use an H4? The 04 EXC's came with a real oddball bulb. The good news is it has about 70W of power available for lighting. If it's really a H4 then there has been some kind of mod already done and you can go with a normal H4. It's kind of spendy but there is an Osram 70/65W bulb that is awesome.

If it's stock then go here for a H7 adapter and bulb. It's a tremendous upgrade. http://www.pmxtec.com/Upgrade1.htm
