I recently locked up my dirtbike so I rebuilt the bottom end. I put the engine in the dirtbike and the kick starter doesn’t move an inch and it doesn’t shift even though it was shifting when I had the case apart. What’s wrong?

Sometimes (almost always) when assembling the case halves, some transmission/crank parts can bind up as you tighten the bolts.
I like to rotate everything at every step of installation to ensure it's been installed freely.

Cool bike. Another thing to consider, (highly unlikely this is the problem). But sometimes tranny‘s won’t work without the proper amount of oil. (Like I said, I doubt this is the issue)
Did you center the crank ? Is bike running while checking trans ? Shifting requires the movement of engine to work smoothly ....
