so i have a 1986 rm 250 its having a hard time starting and idling out i tried air/fuel screw im not sure what it needs to be set atplease help

there is no exact setting. Usually its around 2 turns out on most bikes. Have you put a new spark plug in? Have you tried raising the idle screw?

If the bike set for some time, it may need to have the pilot jet cleaned as well as the carb cleaned.
