Edelbrocks are very simple carbs, even a caveman can work on them. One design flaw is the sideways inlet needle valve (part # 34-38) is suseptible to gumming up. Main symptom is the bike won't start, tapping on the bowl a few times jiggles the needle free and the bike starts. This is a very simple fix, carb dosen't have to be removed or opened. Remove bolt (#37) and pull needle assembly out of the bowl. Remove needle and clean it and the seat with carb cleaner and q-tips. Reinstall needle with rotating ball pointing in, needle pointing out, and put back in carb.
Real simple, do this once a year to prevent gum up.
