Well I'll see what I can find used then! Thanks for the help everyone if I can't find a good used 450 or 500 I'll probably get a drz400 its just a little over my budget, but that's fine.

I didn't really get a clear explanation of why you want this motorcycle to be a dualsport.
If you dont have to have a plated bike, I would get an actual dirtbike. trailers are cheap if you have something at least as big as a Yaris to pull it with .
If you still want a street bike, you can get low time used for under 2500 that will be more streetworthy than any dual sports.
