Drilling Square holes...

yeah i know as soon as i saw it i was like :picard: cause i know exactly how to make that work... never thought about it though just usually drill and then file. I coulda been rich again!

Again ... Reminds of the Jerk ... from rags to riches to rags ... :smirk:

I believe the term for making square holes is/was called broaching...

This drilling process is awesome... now for the precision "square" gage pins to check the size of the square holes ...

You so smart grasshopper, but they have been using these bolts for years and they have been fine with the good old fashion round hole. Do I hear another solution in the makes?
Actually...carriage bolts used in plywood...the square should sinks into the wood and causes it to stop turning...other than that..........round pegs ????

In the woodworking industry, which I know very well :prof: (no pun intended but laugh if you want :smirk: ) we use this thing called a hollow chisel mortiser
