250 Bike is idling too high

Hey guys, I have a kx250 and I have a blown exhaust gasket and my bike is idling way too high, I've checked my carb and everything checks to be fine, My throttle screw is also missing. I don't thing it's the problem could it be the gasket to the exhaust??

The throttle screw missing is a huge issue. I imagine if it physically moves the slide then you are getting a huge air leak through the hole at idle. This is your lean-high idle.

Replace the screw, replace the exhaust gasket (another major flaw when tuning idle), and try again. Post up a photo! -BIG DAN:thumb:

I was going to ask which throttle screw. If it's the throttle stop screw, that won't affect your idle. It could cause a stuck wide open throttle, but not just at idle. As Biggy D says, pretty much all your other "throttle" screws, will be a major problem.
