250F 2005 crf250r STARTING TROUBLE

So my crf250r ran great and started great (first or second kick) all the way up until this week. Last week I cleaned and oiled the air filter, and that’s when I started having problems, wouldn’t start by kicking so I have to jump it now. I thought it was the spark plug so I got a new one and just put it in. Still same issue. Won’t start on kick, but it does on bump. Once the bike is running however, I have no problems, runs great. When I pulled the old plug out, it was black and kinda wet. Not sure if it was fouled or just getting too much gas. I have no idea what else the problem could be besides valves. Looking for help

You could clean the carburetor really well and set the float.
I imagine it's the valves need adjusting, though...
Hard starting "out of nowhere" is the #1 symptom for out of spec valves. -BIG DAN

There were some cam problems on the crf150r . Check valves first , if in spec , check cam lobes . Cam gear ..

Too much oil on the filter Did you take the filter out and check if it makes a difference on starting?
