I was only 11, but I still remember hearing police on loud speakers in the middle of the night and banging on our house door and being told to leave our home and not able to grab everything we would of wanted to save. Here is a good article for the 10 year anniversary. Here. It was scary, not knowing for over a week if your house was gone, or even if your neighbor hood was still even there. Luckily our house was spared, but over 20 homes in our neighborhood did burn down :/. Wildfires are serious, and if you live in a place where they are common, have a "go" bag ready at all times, and even put your important papers in the fridge. (Has a better chance of surviving a fire if the house burns down). I do have respect and Thank every firefighter out there!!!! Here are a few images.
