not shifting

hi there, got a friends 16 husky 85, we were all out couple weekends ago bike was working perfect going thru all the gears, while we were out he noticed his bike wouldnt go up past nuteral, it can go down to first and back it just wont go any higher, feels like there allot of play with the gear...
