Other New bike

Right off the bat started with some issues, bike was filthy, gas tank leaked, fork seals were blown, chain had no orings left, front brakes were useless and the front tire was flat and about 15 years old. So I got all of the parts and got it back together. I spent most of the weekend working on it.

Awesome! Those trails look fun!
is it a way better experience than the RM?

So, its kind of a weird trade off. Im riding slower, and i can tell im slower, i think this is just a setup issue. but I'm also significantly less fatigued. 20+ miles on the rm had me on my ass, sore and stiff for days. I did two 30 mile weekends in a row and wanted more riding lol.

Okay a lot has happened since my last update. Bike looked all original so I decided I better tear into it and make sure the piston wasn't about to explode. Which it really wasn't, but thats okay.

Found the original B size piston in the bike. It still ran good, and had decent compression. But, it had quite a bit of wear in the cylinder. Thankfully the bottom end is still tight, no excessive movement anywhere it shouldn't.

I chose to go with a wossner piston after many people told me the all balls group, who does vertex and wiseco have been having some serious QC issues.

I sent my cylinder off to millennium for fresh plating, had them set it back to 69.00mm for the A size wissner piston. Here's a before pic with a chip in the plating.

Got the cylinder back, it looks fantastic.

And here are some assembly pics. I made a mistake filing the rings, set the gap on one ring way too big, I had to order a new one.
