My Dad is a graphic design teacher. He has been in the printing industry for 27 years.
Here's a video of his classroom and what he teaches.

I almost did not think they even taught classes like this anymore Dan. I have been in this industry almost 34 years; started in 1978 while going to college and I am still in it today in sales. The industry has tanked over the years as I am sure your dad would agree but there is still work out there. There also have been major changes in the way print was set up before ever making it to the presses. It use to be art boards, tissue over lays, type setting, camera work and stripping the film in. Now it is CTP, AI, Indesign and anything else the computer and operator can come up with. I am glad your dad is still teaching this profession and thanks for the video. :thumb: And let's not forget the new digital printing era as that is another whole new technology gaining momentum.

My father's class is an ROP (regional occupation program) class which means YOU CAN attend his class ANYTIME. Want the paperwork????

He teaches much more than this video describes, but it's a good lesson in the beginner classes. The advanced classes are somewhat unbelieveable in the amount of creativity required to suceed.
