Yes Rack, I used one very similar to that - in fact, I bought it in your beautiful State. I put it on and stood on one leg and nobody could push me over.
Oh, wait a sec - that thing is hooked up to a computer - nope, I didn't use that

They (Nike) make a sensor like this for tennis shoes too. You can sync to your Iphone/Ipod to it and it will track your workouts. I have the app on my phone and looks like it's pretty cool. It's called Nike+ Ipod. I don't have the tracking device though. You can cutomize your workout times, add playlist for music etc.
Nothing is a waste when your loaded like Rackster.looks like a waste.
