 If that's your garage I can only imagine what your house looks like.:thumb:

I'm very jealous, not to mention that you fly to. :moon: :ride:

I just can't understand California. Everyone has the best of everything in excess! How? You all aren't doctors and lawyers, where do you get the cash for this stuff? Everytime I've been out there, I just scratch my head? Toy haulers, campers, sand buggies, new trucks, the newest bikes tricked out, how? What do you guys do for a living? How can you do that?

I have a beater truck, old bikes no haulers and make a decent living.
I have no debt and I am putting kids through college. Read between the lines.

This is not aimed at anybody but a general statement.

I live in Cali and wonder the same thing Buck. Im stereo typing now and not speaking about people in this forum specifically but, I do believe here in So Cal too much importance is placed on "looks" You gotta have the good looking wife, car, house, bike, boat etc... So damn image concious! Keepin up with the Jones is work, and can kill ya trying! Im lucky to live in a nice area, in the oldest neighborhood with the smallest houses 1375' home, ouch! I will drive :prof:my beater truck till it doesnt beat anymore! Even if it stands out in the neighborhood of Lexus and Mercedes. Afterall, it is just transportation made to serve a purpose and it is still serving me. Now Im not sayin I wouldnt like a nicer house or truck if I could afford it, Im just sayin Im happy to have what I've got and, if I had a choice between a face lift for me or my bike well....I'd probably take one for my bike:thumb: Im just sayin.....
Good health and love is what matters in life, if you ask me. Oh! and riding of coure:smirk:
Remember....
It's nice to have nice, but nicer to be nice!

A lot of the individuals you refer to do in fact have money, own their own businesses, etc. hence they in turn buy bigger and better HOWEVER, many of those individuals are now selling their stuff due to the economy...OVER EXTENDED!

Growing up in my 20's, married 2 kids, an 950sq ft house (3 br 2 ba cracker box ) no car payment, both us us commuting 50 miles round trip (that was in the 80's) and 2 half way decent bikes (wife's and mine). We both worked, making a lower end middle income. It took a long time for us to get where we're at now with neither of us having degrees in our fields of work. We now have a 1800 sq ft home on 1/2 acre (lots of storage room) purchased 12 yrs ago, a TH paid for, bike and quads paid for, keep in mind my bike is old...I hope this helps you understand how some of us have obtained what we have...Can't speak for others however I'm sure it's very similar...:thumb:

Buck is talking about, how can a guy have a 2010 Dodge ram 2500 with 24's a 2011 KX250f and all of the brand new gear to go along with it and still be calm about his situation, because he rides an older, simpler bike that he has no payments on.

thats how i feel about it too buck, how can they keep up with all of the payments? they can't be making THAT much money, they would have to be making like 500k a year which is just simply outrageous....

1stly, I understood what he was saying......
2ndly, How do you base your assumptions? A good job (not just pay but stability) leads to good fortune......at the end of it all...It's HIS/HER bill to pay not yours/ours to worry about!

So to put all this in perspective:
I herd turds for a living
Orange paint $50
Black paint $20
Epoxy paint for the floor $100
Labor free
Garage. priceless
Before being relocated to Clovis my wife and I raised our only daughter in a 1050 sqf one bath house that we bought 28 years ago for 50k. Yes we sold when the market was starting to drop, but after 25 years of a $504/month payment we had improved our income, and had a house that was paid off. Never had a new car or truck, had a car payment or two, had a couple airplane payments, have a couple exotic motorcycles, have a boat, have a nice home. I've worked all my life and yes I have a garage thats painted orange and black. Got to piss off the neighbors.:smirk: Check out the avatar, the Mooney is orange too.
