Camp Fire Stories

Non-bike related story however a border crossing that should have gone bad.............

I was workng for a company in Corona that was doing business with an aluminum extruder in Tijuana (east end). I as well as a co-worker were to meet up with a guy from our headquarters in Chicago to make a visit to this facility. We went down there in a rental car..."not to be taken across the border"...Chicago was driving, it's in his name he says, F' it and went across anyways. We got lost immediately drove around town for about an hour when we finally found the street we were looking for. We paid our visit, spent a couple hours there and left...We're in line to cross back into the US, get up to the front and get waved over to "secondary...due to it being a rental car I guess...we'll never know" on the way to "secondary" Chicago says, F'this and takes a hard left turn thru an open gate...no signs saying DO NOT ENTER but we have no idea where it's taking us...we're shitting bricks at this time. It takes us onto the entry to Mexico side but is divided by a K rail (on the left) and the fence (on the right) ...there is no turning around......we keep going until it opens up like a flood gate but up in front of all the traffic. Chicago floors it....me and the other guy continue to look over our shoulder for at least 10 miles waiting for a US Border Patrol vehicle to come screaming up but....it never happened! That was my last visit "by car" to Mexico...Aye Carumba...

Weekend trip story from YEARS GONE BY.......or....The BY GONE YEARS..........whatever!

The usual suspects are out for a weekend camping/riding trip, our good friend who we refer to as Papa Bear (yes even now)...and his wife had invited her brother and family. We wee out in JV at Craddock-Cove (another rez-like place)...after only a few minutes of interaction we realized the son of the brother was infact a little coniving prick (no holds barred in this thread right RACK?). He was somewhere between 16 and 18 t/o, talked a big story about riding etc. so we decided to get everyone together and go for a ride...now theres about 15 of us and HIM....we ride out to the dunes where we use to spend time jumping, carving, etc in the sand and whenever someone would go down they were fair game to get well..ROOSTED! Once my buddy and I and a few others came back to the group for a rest the coniving prick decided to go out and have some fun by himself.........he wound up dumping it not too far from us when we all looked at each other gave "the nod" and off we went but not before my loving wife yelled out to us to "please take it easy on him...he's doesn't know what he's doing"! I told her not to worry.........Let's just say we displaced a little bit of sand on that ride...Once he dug himself out....he had sand in every place imaginable and some areas you wouldn't think possible. He kept to himself the rest of the weekend even after his Uncle (Papa Bear) told him that was the process for newbies......and we only do that to people we liked!

That is a written law in the world of riding in the sand!
