speed loaders... Myth busted

last night my dad bought a speed loader for his AR-15. But, he was quite skeptical about it so I told him I would beat the normal time of loading a clip with the speed loader. He timed me several times using the speed loader and then just my hand. I got a time of 28 seconds putting 20 rounds in his clip using just my hand, then for the speed loader I also used twenty rounds and got a time of 33 seconds. I tried over and over to get it under 30 seconds but, I could not. It is more comfortable using the speed loader. It is more of a finger saver, not a speed loader.

Im fine with loading by hand, but when I'm an oldfella, I could use them for the ease of use. Ammo on stripper clips is awesome, sadly the ammo I usually buy is not on a stripper clip. I do put all my left over ammo on stripper clips when all my mags are full.

My dads is set up sort of like a stripper clip but its still slower. Ill try to post a video. How do I use my laptop camera to shoot a video?

I don't know, try your phone. :noidea:

BTW where do you shoot at? Haven't fired mine in awhile.

ok well my phone only shoots thirty second videos, then it will save them but it can send them.
But we have hay bales we shoot into.

not far but I could arrange them for 100-200 yard shots. I would have to ask him if I could move it. Right now its about 75 yards

I'd like to buy a 1000 round box of 5.56 NATO rounds on clips but due to the gun laws of late nobody seems to have them.

Yup. I have not shot in probably over a month now. Price gouging and availability is making it really hard. I have 3 rounds in my grip.

I get to enjoy some quality time with my G17 and R700 though. I haven't shot that old 700 in a long time!
