And, don't tighten the perches all the way down. Leave them a little loose so on a impact, they spin.
I find that a very thin piece of rubber works great for this (think inter-tube or electrical tape), make it snug enough that they don't move until you hit it.

Between the perchesalls.. :smirk:.. and the bars???

I like your idea though James......I've tried the "leave it loose" trick but they kept moving on me...there was no happy medium. I just may try your trick! :thumb:

yupp you also never tighten your brake and clutch all the way down, cuz if your bark busters spin those can hit the tree, i found that if you can move bark busters when you strike them with your palm, its about the right tension, same with your levers :prof: don't wanna be breaking stuff on long rides :ride:

Nope, that's why I started putting a piece of rubber in there, allows you to make them tighter.

Isn't that what we were talking about?

Don't know about you but I wouldn't want my bark busters to move, at all. Hit a tree, they rotate and you still end up smashing your hand. :cripple: The reason I do it to the brake & clutch levers is for when I go down, so they rotate instead of break/bend. This way I can get back on, give them a good hit, and get back in the mix.
