Husky Solo Ride

*****WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING*****
This thread has tons of pics of my new look Yamaha, if you don't like blue, turn away.

As most of you know, my scooter received a lot of love over the off season(Yes, I said off season CDA, Timo doesn't like the trees) and finishing up right when it cooled down was perfect. I went solo since I wasn't sure if I'd be mostly wrenching, or riding. With temps forecast to be in the 80's, a dawn patrol wasn't needed, so I slept in, drove to the Dez, and was KSU at a little after 7:00.

New shoes in the dirt before sun up.

I put the Yamaha decal too high, but I'm sure the creosote will take care of that problem.

The 3.1 IMS tank requires YZ plastic, and good luck finding WR graphics to fit a YZ, so these cheapy Flu's were bought off Ebay, and a little scissor work was applied. Not perfect, but good enough. :noidea:
huskysolo 004.JPG

New larger radiators that was a pain to get to fit in the existing guards.
huskysolo 005.JPG

New everything out back. I'm anxious to see how well the Renthal holds up.
huskysolo 009.JPG

There was more squish spent here, then what was spent to buy BH's 250, including DMV fees.:picard:
huskysolo 010.JPG

I thought about spray painting the EBC's black, but I guess a little red is okay.:smirk:
huskysolo 011.JPG

One ride with Trav, and I'm sure the disc guard will be as scarred as the swing arm.
huskysolo 012.JPG

I had to work pretty hard to get Moto Hose to fit also. Another half inch sure would have been nice.
huskysolo 014.JPG

The new 100 ounce bladder, and the flag that was bought for the Husky two years ago. Maybe this trip will be different.
huskysolo 015.JPG

It's going to be a good season.
huskysolo 017.JPG

The first causality of the ride was before it even started.
huskysolo 019.JPG

TBC......

The first one out on the trail.
huskysolo 022.JPG

Another shot of blue, hey I warned you. :noidea:
huskysolo 021.JPG

The old short Seal Savers didn't need a zip tie to hold them up.
huskysolo 023.JPG

The long version, is another story.
huskysolo 024.JPG

A quick stop at Hinkley for $3 in gas.

huskysolo 026.JPG

With the school across the tracks being closed, I'm hoping it doesn't do in the market.
huskysolo 027.JPG

After the top off, the next real rest stop, was the Harper over look.
huskysolo 030.JPG

The local rock art.
huskysolo 028.JPG

huskysolo 029.JPG

Since I was alone, a little lake riding was in order.
huskysolo 033.JPG

More to come...

Next stop was the Husky where bigger is better seems to be the new thought process.
huskysolo 034.JPG
Another shot of the same.
huskysolo 035.JPG
It even had a motor.
huskysolo 036.JPG

The cookies sounded good, but that would be very wrong.:naughty:
huskysolo 037.JPG

Andrews needed a little dusting.
huskysolo 039.JPG

This is unacceptable.:picard: I feel a plan building as I type.
huskysolo 040.JPG

My buddy's is looking a little shabby also.
huskysolo 041.JPG

It's unreal how large this spot has become.
huskysolo 042.JPG

More shots walking around the perimeter.
huskysolo 043.JPG

huskysolo 044.JPG

huskysolo 045.JPG

I tried getting in this one, but didn't feel like breaking out tools to operate the latch.
huskysolo 046.JPG

I felt bad, but this one gave me a chuckle.
huskysolo 047.JPG

huskysolo 048.JPG

Looks like the flag makes the return ride.
huskysolo 049.JPG

More to come...

From the Husky, a little exploring was done, where I found a new route that will be used from now on. :thumb:
huskysolo 052.JPG

More poaching, errrr, I mean exploring was done, where one of my favorite washes was run.
huskysolo 053.JPG

Completing a full loop, and hitting reserve, I made it back to Hinkley for two gallons of gas, and an ice cream was bought.
huskysolo 056.JPG

An alternate route back to the truck brought me to this safe spot for a rest.:smirk:
huskysolo 058.JPG

I thought about running the wash next to it, but being pretty much beat, I took the easy route straight to the truck.
huskysolo 059.JPG

The last stop was to grab this guy.
huskysolo 060.JPG

I don't know if it's legal, but I packed it home.
huskysolo 061.JPG

So, a full day just short of 162 miles, and other then some suspension tuning, the scooter is ready to roll again.
huskysolo 062.JPG

I'd like to thank Timo for a great ride, and it looks like it'll be done again a couple more times soon, because the coater in me just can't live with rust on Andrews memorial.:aussie:

Awesome report. I have been thinking about Andrew's plaque out there and was thinking of a run before T-Day.

I used to race against his son.

Don't be surprised if it's not there/under construction. I'm leaning towards going next week, bringing back the frame, coating it, and returning it the following Saturday.
