Hi guy's, Aussie Rider, retired from racing but still riding

I've been here for a while, but thought I'd post a hello to all you guy's anyway  .

I raced dirt track sliders, solo speedy bikes, a lot of Motocross and finished my years off doing some MX/SX and Enduro before not long retiring, now riding trails and some MX mucking around.

Main home MX tracks were Lakes at Ryhope NSW and Cessnock MCC NSW, they also ran dirt track with their MX meetings but that has all changed.

Home track for speedway was the Newcastle International Motordrome

I went back to MX and some SX after the Motordrome stopped the solo's running their and the time travelling to other interstate tracks just got to intense, it didn't do my financial situation a world of good, nor did it do wonders for my work commitments.

Home track for Dirt track was Barleigh Ranch, now called MX Central, I guess it was also a kinda home track for MX, but Lakes and Cessnock were the most ridden.

Loved my riding career, wouldn't have done it any other way. Never wanted to be a world champion, work commitments just seen me enjoy the racing, as long as I turned up to work without anything broken the boss was cool.

Loll, yeah could tell you some good campfire stories , some of them people would probably think I'm talking B.S, but true. Racing bikes have seen me meet some of the funniest buggers you could imagine, also some of the best, some you would know, some you wouldn't. I treat everyone the same, no matter who or what I've done, seen met etc, but just have to say it's been an awesome ride. Seen one particular guy grow up to be a world champ, started out at the same home track along with his cousin who also has done well for himself. Good times and memories.

As previously stated in other threads, seen some good mates go down too, I'm actually battling to be around "wasn't going to say it but better out in the open" after that procedure went wrong in the Maitland Hospital. I still get on with things the best I can, but some serious damage has been done. Will my body repair the nerve damage? It's been 8 months with slow improvements, so maybe. You just never know what life throws at you I guess.

I joined facebook, that's how I found you guy's as it has kept me in the loop, I even manage to ride still, but I'm certainly not the person I was 8 months ago.

As for current bike listing - 99 RMX250, 03 KDX200, 06 WR250F, 05/06 depending on who you talk to XR650R, and then there's chuggy the self converted Diesel Enfield ........ :ride:

Due to 5 finger discounters "thieves" the bikes are left at a secure location, sad place we live in now hey. The Enfield still stays at home most of the time though.

Glad to be amongst good friends like yourself mate, wish I was in the U.S so I could meet some of you in person and have some of this

I like you Aussies! You fight well! It's a bummer that 80% of an entire continent is pretty much uninhabitable. By humans.

I enjoy your posts and pictures! Please stay in touch and get well!

 mate!

I may be off here, but you wouldn't be refering to Chad Reed would you? I just know he was inspired by his cousin, I'm not familiar with Aus. geography though

Welcome to the site!

Your right on there snowflake, Craig Anderson, Chad Reed, Danny Ham all came from Lakes Motorcycle club. It was good to see them grow up and progress to where they are today, Danny has retired, Craig is still riding but I think may retire soon also, he is training people at his property. There are a lot of others I've seen come up also but never went on to become the success of them three.

Thank you to the other guy's for the welcome, I may be off the forum for a while as I see some specialists starting tomorrow, it depends on what happens whether I'll be back over the next week or so.
