[QUOTE="JakeBoucher, post: 173167, member: 1844"] Hey everyone, new to the forum. Recent picked up a 93RM250, bike was in good shape just needed some love and little things. Started up and ran decent, until about an hour into my very first ride. Bike made and odd noise then slowed and died. Tried the Kicker and it was locked up, after a few choice words and pushing the bike back to my trailer I got it home. Pulled the motor, pulled the head and instantly noticed an easy 1/4 inch of play in the rod. The rod was very hard to move and had plenty of play. So I proceed to tear it apart and split the case. Lower rod bearing was smoked but everything else seemed fine. Now I have the crank over at a trusted shop being rebuilt with a new IMS rod kit. I also just bought a list of new parts: Wiseco Pro Light Piston Kit $121 IMS Rod Kit $56 Hot Rods Crank Bearings $30 Moose Full Gasket and Seal Kit $85 All Balls Counter shaft kit $15 Clymer Service Manual $29 Boysen Super Stock Reeds $32 New Water Pump Impeller/Shaft $35 Power Valve Rod clips $3 Carb Choke/Idle plunger $35 65-67MM Cylinder Hone $40 Uni Air filter $26 Decided I would completely rebuild the motor and get to know the bike for a couple years. I need to know some ballpark jetting ranges. Here's some info... FMF Gnarly with stock silencer, stock PJ carb, boysen super stock reeds, Uni foam airfilter, everything else stock. Sea level, 90 degrees, 70-80% humidity. Im also curious what a good oil mixture to run is? I usually just do 32:1, but I don't know what's best for my application. Im just looking for needle clip height, Main and pilot jet sizes, and a good place to start on my fuel air mixture. If anyone would care to share some pointers or do's and don'ts they would be appreciated. I will post some pictures tomorrow, and keep everyone updated on progress when I receive my crank. Thanks!
