There is riding after 50

This morning started with rain. However, by mid day it was nice so it was time for a ride. I suited up and made the long trek to the staging area. Oh, wait all I had to do was open the garage door and roll out the bike.

After 4.8 miles it's my jumping off point. Yes there were people walking down the trail/road so I waited for them.

There is a bit of a squid filter climbing this hill, but in no time you are up here.

Looking the other way. Hey it's a bike and it's still clean.

I was back on teh bike and rode to the top of the hill above Rowher. It was a bit chilly as this is at 4800 feet. Clouds but no rain. The desert is to the right and Weathergeek's place is a bit beyond the horizon on the left.

One last photo stop looking back up in the direction of the previous photo. That trail marker has a black diamond on it, but I think of this as an easy trail.

Back at home and the bike is a bit muddy. Time for a rinse.

All mud washed off and ready for the garage.

It was a good three hour ride and about 45 miles.

I may have done this ride a hundred times over the years, but it's awesome to have a fun bit of riding so close to home. I can do a short loop in an hour or extend it to a 4 to 5 hour ride. No (legal) tight single track, but fun jeep two track and wider single stuff.

This is Rowher? Still have never been there. Looks really fun.

I used to ride right out of my driveway and ride up to drink water and than over to the bouquet reservoir. From there you could cross bouquet and ride up into Rowher than down through Texas Canyon, across bouquet again, down through drink water and back to my house. Talk about an after school special.

Nice pics! Love that view from the top of Rowher. I havent been there in a while. Glad you had a good time on the Beta
