2 Stroke Suzuki ds80 help

So I purchased a ds80 on Craigslist to work on for 100 bucks doesn't seem too bad as far as I can tell it needs a new kick start shaft and probably carburetor cleaned out. I have took of clutch cover part of the engine and tried to get the shaft out but turns out I'll have to split the engine to get it totally out since it has a spring that hold it in from the other side , I decided to first see if it actually works before I try to change it and see if it at least bump starts . Anything else I need to do other then clean the carb ? So far it's not running at all. Thanks any help appreciated

Buy a workshop manual first before you buy anything else, clean the carb at least twice, new plug, new fluid and bump til your hearts content, once you get sick of bumping it :crash:fix it properly! :thumb:
