Hi i found a old 1980s suzuki 85 2 stroke i think the model is dsx . I got it running but the thing seems to be stuck in 5th gear clutch works and everything just wont shift at all . The shifter srill has a little play so not sure what the issue is. It will spin the back tire without any noise coming from the tranny to so i dont think anything has broken off in there. If anyone has any idea please let me know thank you .

Split the cases. Possibly a broken shift fork?
Doesnt the bikw have to be in nwutral to aplit the case tho?
No it doesn't, get to work with the camera and wrenches.

Hmmm, same photo problems I had.
First thing I would do is identify the year and the model. I don't believe there was an "85" in the 80's. the serial numbers on the frame and engine would be helpful there. Once you have the identification made you can get the right manual. I am familiar with the ds 80 of that general time era and there is every possibility that you have a broken or bent shift mechanism.
