The Tubinator, BT and Me decide to ride the granite hills of the southern Mojave for some tech riding practice. Last time here, it was January fro-zone but with the temps now in the upper 80s, Perdition is all fired-up. After ignoring a couple calls from some telemarketer saying something about being late to the staging area, we pulled-in and parked to find BT (Bajataxi) waiting. Bushwhacking between the staging area and the riding zone, my bike found a nice place for a short stand-up nap… the guy in front always gets the surprises…

The target was to explore some west side trails first...

Ran across a few friendly people on mountain bikes sharing the use of the single-track … good attitudes are good to find.
We turned around at the man-made obstacle that now splits that trail system in half ... because less attention is more. Back-tracking, we found even more branches to the trails there … good tech stuff (meaning lots of skid plate and balance “issues”). Next, over on the north side, a nice section going up …

BT coming through…

Around the corner we found a group of 4X4s parked and hiding from the sun playing with their RC buggies in the dirt … probably because that type of drinking & driving is still legal.
We headed straight up from there into the tech stuff again and worked our way east…

After a little break to cool-off the orange steamer, BT finds an 80s-era Shoei on top of a ridge and mounts it on a rock. After we all brake-slide down the steep rutted trail on the other side of the ridge, he realizes he left his glasses on his fender when up top. Nice. Now it’s a challenge to see who can clutch and dog-paddle their way up helmet-hill first. I won the sweat fest … on to the next event. I threw-in this next pic of BT topping this hill LAST TIME because his horse refused a second try at this same hill THIS TIME.

Came to this next nasty hill and I talked Tubinator into making a run at it. By this time, BT notices that if I don’t jump-in and go first, maybe it’s good to let someone else try … hmmm …

Next, the trail over to the water slide for a break in the shade…

Going through…
