According to Smartop MotoConcepts Racing team owner Mike Genova, Mike Alessi has signed with the team for the 2015 race season. However, after spending the summer racing the Canadian outdoor series, Alessi has yet to make a decision on where he will race in 2015.

“MCR as team are considering multiple options and opportunities for the 2015 racing season,” said Genova. “Mike Alessi’s epic rides in the Canadian Nationals this summer created a huge rise in attendance for those events. His accomplishments and expertise, coupled with consideration in the World Motocross series, allows for many great opportunities. Those options include the upcoming AMA Supercross season, AMA Pro Motocross, Canadian Motocross, and a very strong interest for a World GP partnership.”

“We are excited for and believe in Alessi’s talent, determination, commitment, experience, and consistency on and off the track. We have no doubts in his potential for success in any one of these series,” says Genova. “We are still negotiating each series and will select the option that is in the best interest of MCR and its future partners.”MCR is currently in discussions with multiple top tier riders to fill the additional position available on the team for the 2015 season.

They have no idea where he is going to race. Looks like they are shying away from the AMA scene and going elsewhere. He just can't get it done in the states.

Allessi used to have the speed and talent to run top 5 and was at one point leading the outdoor series (08?)until that horrible crash where everyone ran him over. Since then he has had 1 MOTO win and has been skittish. Pulling hole shots and then fading mid pack. His father and brother have held him back and swollen his head to the point where it no longer fits in his helmet. It's time for those 2 to move on and for Mike to surround himself with better people.

I agree, Mike does have talent and always has since his mini through amt days. If you listen to him interview, he shows signs of an intelligent racer, but his dad is the gating factor. If he got away from that and focused on his program, he would be better, but not sure if he has what it takes to win a championship.
