2 Stroke KTM 2-Stroke Line-Up

We all know that the only manufacture that is supporting the two stroke line is KTM. They have the largest line up ranging from 50cc to 300cc. But, are they truely supporting the two stroke.? Just because they have the most offerings in two strokes does it mean that they support them? I would think that if they truely supported them. They would at least make an effort to race, say the 150cc and the 250cc in their perspective classes. Even if they race them in the outdoor series only. The KTM sells more and more two strokes every year. Plus more and more priveteers buy them and are racing them. So is KTM supporting the two stroke or are they just supporting the sport cuz they can understand that not everyone can afford the four strokes.?

While you do not see KTM two strokes in MX or SX, check the GNCC, Works, BITD, BIG6, NHHA, etc......

I think KTM supports two stroke dirtcicles 100%. They are giving the consumer many options and variations to choose from.

Because thanks to the AMA rules, the 4 strokes are superior in the pro classes. Until the AMA changes the rules to allow higher cc 2 strokes to race against the 4 strokes it just isn't happening. KTM is not going to send a factory rider out on a bike that they know can't win.

KTM's are becoming quite a bit more popular in the amateur ranks though. :thumb:

They screwed up big time with that 2001(?) ruling to keep the old equal displacement rule....Yamaha and Honda had deep pockets that day. Honda pulled the advertisement cash from the road racing dept while Yamaha started pulling funding for ama events.... that's the rumor anyway....remember when all the track officials used to run around in Yamaha golf carts and Honda 4 wheelers?.... perks for being an ama official...
