Other Kdx 420 wont start

New to this dirt bike stuff... Bought a kdx 420 1981 really rips but untill it just floods and never starts

I'd imagine the float is set incorrectly allowing fuel to overflow giving you flooding issue.

Yeah this lectron carb is cool gotta watch out for it cuZ drove truck down a hill with petcock on lol i think it filled the cylinder

take the electron off and save it to sell. fyi it is probably worth as much to someone who is collecting or really likes them than the bike is. I have two of them and I get some pretty crazy offers.

Would but i bought bike with it so dont got the original i got it tuned good but i think the float isn't working right or need a new seat

How did you set it? A used flatslide for that critter is likely about 40

It is flat side 40 also is it bad if i found like a dab of oil in magneto side

We arent talking about the same thing. My point was that you coukd get a flatslide (mikuni ie the brand it came with only an upgrade from the vm model) for 40$. Sorry if I dont soell things out fully.

The dab of oil could be form a bad crank seal as I am sure yours are age challenged. Bad mag side crankshaft seals leak air and make enhines run lean

Oh got ya and i think its my transmission oil getting into i cuz 8 kicks and plug has oil on it not mix gas oil
