jetting 1996 cr250r

So I got the thing to idle(weird carb, keihn pj series)..

Throttle response is lacking down low, I can give it full throttle(1st gear), and it wont really respond till it hits about the mid range. Any tips?

Throttle position is the only determinate of jetting. My brother asked me the same question yesterday. I pointed him to this site and told him to read it twice. He went out and fixed his 1/4 throttle burble with a needle clip change all by himself. Good luck, every bike is different.
Don't mind that it's for a mikuni. Carburetors all work the same way but with different shapes.

You need to figure out whether it's a "bog" or a "burble." One is rich, one is lean. Throttle position is the determinate of jetting needs. -BIG DAN:thumb:

I have to have the air screw to about 1/2 turn out or else it has a terribly lunging idle... going to put a new plug in, and?

srad, i just grabbed the cr book, and it looks like the guy wrote 40:1 in it.... it maybe jetted for 40:1 and im running 32:1 in it, could that be throwing me off
