Gear stripped out or clutch slipping...?

Earlier today i was out riding and i came across a wide open field. Like any other rider would do, i let my bike go all out. It pulled really good, until i got to 5th gear. Then it started feeling like the clutch would slip a little then get grip, then slip again and so on. But if the clutch WAS slipping, wouldnt it slip for all the other gears too? I just got this bike it is a 2003 Yz 250F

I would ride the bike again on another open flat and see if it does the same thing. Maybe it was just wheel spin and your clutch and gears are fine. That way you don't pull things apart for no reason. I just like to be sure of a problem before I try to come up with a fix.

The good news is that you got that bad-boy all the way to 5th gear :thumb: personally, I have even just changed the tranny fluid to get better results. If that doesn't work, I would check your graffix - if they are even slightly less than sikk-arse, I would change them. Seriously - check your clutch play :thumb:
