Fly wheel puller

Hey guys, just got a simple question. Is there a reason why the threads for a fly wheeler puller are left handed? or is it just cause'?

If the outer and the inner were both threaded the same direction it would be almost impossible to get enough tension on the center bolt to pull the flywheel as the outer part would back off when you tried to hold it while tightening the inner.

Danny has the right answer. Timo has the answer that makes you believe that is a plausible reason. I would absolutely believe that they are just trying to rip off the general public. Why do hot dogs come in a ten pack and buns come in an 8 pack? :smirk:
Someone at the bun factory got with the hotdog factory and said, "Lets rip of the american public"!

You make a good point

not all of them are left handed threads. some are a one piece item, threads in just like a bolt and acts just like Paw described :-).
