Can you have a dirt bike on its side?

I found a decent dirt bike but I have no means of transportation besides a jeep but it'd have to be on its side for about 2 1/2 hours. Is this bad for the bike? Would I be able to do that without breaking the bike?

if its a 2 stroke it will not care how long it sits on its side. If its a 4 stroke you are going to want to to drain the oil if you transport it on its side. in both cases you may want to drain the gas tank to keep gas from leaking all over the inside of the jeep

drained or not, if it has been on it's side for that long, remove the sparkplug and kick it through slowly a few times before you try to start it. (there may be enough oil left in it to leak into the cylinder and hydraulically lock the engine. a hard kick with the oil contained in the head wll be enough to damage the piston and or the rod in that case.)
