oh about the third time you put it back together it will start to seem easy. what other types of stuff have you worked on? i am pretty familiar with that engine, so give me some specifics about your starting drill and when you experience the slippage.

well i wasnt so much thinking of the calendar and the clock here JP. does it just slip and not turn the engine over when you randomly kick it, or when it gets to the bottom of the stroke etc? again, tell me how you do your starting routine

You should be able to feel something like a ratchet after you kick down and as it comes back up. You need to start slowly at the top of the stroke until you feel the mechanism catch. If you simply flip the lever out and do a "snake stomp" few of them ever catch.

FYI I have the manual and have done that one a lot, before you tear into it I just wanted to know how you were going about it, and to be honest you dont take much time to explain and describe. way before computers that kind of description should have prompted the term "garbage in garbage out". Remember, we aren't there, I for one don't read minds. But I am really glad to help if you do your part.
