06 kx100 removed and cleaned carb , re installed , fired on 2nd kick ... then took off screaming , tried throttle , would not shut down , tried kill switch , nothing , removed plug wire , nothing , shut off fuel , run screaming till gas run out ... WTF WAS THAT ??? Not throttle cable or slide , .... crank seals ?... How the hell does it run with no plug wire ????

Symptoms are 'screaming' throttle slide not seating all the way.
The carburetor was the last thing messed with, its usually the last thing you did since it ran last.
Even a slide installed backwards can do this.

The running with no plug wire is a good question, as only a hotspot could cause detonation appropriate for it to run, and it had just started.

This is where we do cleanup after someone else .. new carb installed by other , don't know if they changed slide , has new throttle cable , also installed by them .. waiting on old removed parts and whatever not installed in new carb box .. I'm thinking maybe different slide , maybe wrong cable , combination of both .?? Time will tell , real bitch , old hard rubber grommet and intake pipe ... well used clamps , you know .....

I once had a yz80 do that to me but it ran me straight in to a thorny hedge :crash: Got up turned round and my bro was nearly on the deck pissing himself with laughter :foul::picard:

Slide not stuck , checked that after installing carb ... could hear it slamming closed .. I like the explanation of the plug wire being off and the engine still running . Seems like a logical answer ..... Received extra removed parts today , still a brand new slide and spring in the box .. will remove carb and inspect tomorrow . That is probably the problem ..will let you know ......

like a diesel engine, turning so fast the heat and compression is continuing to ignite incoming fuel.
I once worked on a forklift with a 2 stroke Detroit? diesel v8. It started to run-away and if it wasn't for the older, wiser, very experienced mechanic with a clip board, I would have started running...

Haven't seen one since.
