We need to un torque some stuff first, the more I read the more I'm afraid there may be some deeper issues here. With the rear wheel locking up. Sounds like a bearing or piston seize.

Yes but does the wheel turn? Will it go into neutral?

The other thought is the wheel lock may have come from a cold seizure in this case it's not uncommon for the engine piston to free up after its cooled.
