What did you do to your car/truck today?

I don't know anything about the transit other than you tanked one. Is your sister mad?!!! I would keep that story under my hat.
Ford transit is fords big van over here!
Nope shes totally cool about it! im gutted about it as ive never wrecked any engine in 15 years driving or 35 on bikes!
my fault so declared what happened right away :-(

note to self: Transit engines aren't rated for 10,000+rpm
Yup it shat a brick or 5, but then so did I so it was all over in 2 seconds tops but yes I shat a brick!
Edinburgh to Glasgow M8 Westbound, road goes from 3-2 lanes and im in the middle with a tailgater, touch the brake for half a sec and go for fourth from 5th (top) 60mph, to sposedly 4th, afterwards thought to myself maybe I got 3rd from upward in 5th to upward in 3rd which don't make sense in a 5speed box, (should have been 4th to let the rig on my left out in slowlane but as @snowflake pointed out it redlines at 4-5K so ten miles later it's dead after a whole load of piston slapping nonsense recovery showed up with a 4000 kilo winch and slide deck,
At this point I look at my rear tires and think hmmm, my limit mgw is 3500 kg nervous lol right here!
No accurate gauge to weigh it but I almost wrecked the winch on his ( workmates ) truck! :(
Glad he showed before the nasties did!!!
Btw I think deep deep down I might have got 2nd for half a second :lame:

You defenitely put it in second, but I'm not sure how you got past the synchro!! Sorry to hear of your bad luck!
Why do ya'll insist on loading cars with a crane onto the flatbed? Here in murica we rip and drag the vehicle from it's spot and up the ramp/flatbed with a winch. Merica! -BIG DAN:thumb:

That's what was used, a sliding bed and winch!
I had to jump in the cab and give gas to power the winch enough to get my van on! :(

A 71 f100 that we painted, sanded with 1200 dry and then 3000 wet. Currently buffing the roof (picture above) half buffed at the moment, needs swirl removal still. I'll post a pic when it's done

Found this video on u. Tub of someone killing a 2.4 transit engine in a similar way/sound as I did,https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz1xgJ1WBfw
Van now in shop hopefully only a top end then likely gone to ex owner, £600'ish

I installed new pads, rotors and calipers on the rear of the deuce fiddy....
340k I gues I'm due.
I will have to order new emergency brakes since mine were non existent.
