What did you do to your car/truck today?

 UGH!!! Ford!!! in an effort to appease the soccer mom and the dads with small peckers they have forgone their legacy and opted for style.... I don't need heated seats for my work clothes and I don't need stylish leather trim with a compass and douche napkins... There was a time when you needed to get a job done and needed the most reliable truck on the planet you bought a Ford. HAnds down the best truck ever built. Now a days the use of cheap steel and gimmicks has brought the quality to a halt while over inflating prices to accommodate egos..... I love my Ford truck but I'm disappointed in the body rot... and now I hear the 6.7 dicksmack...ouch!

Ford owns Cummins..... why not just do a like for like motor???
you motor heads more than likely know the story.

I've got my 95 f150.......cloth bench seat, plastic floor cover, when it gets all dusty and nasty inside, I just scrub out the cab, and hose it out.no a/c, 4x4, crank windows......over 200k on he odometer and still going. Oh yeah, also twin I beam , none of this pussy ass IFS just cause the little pecker dads want a soft comfy ride. A truck should be a truck, work it, run it and not give a f**k.

89ish's long lost sister :hifive:

Mine is approaching engine over haul time, someone asked why put that much money in a 25/26 year old truck.. well because they don't build real trucks anymore :smirk:

Basically I like any truck my wife hates, she likes the shiny stuff. But yeah, mine will need to either have the engine gone thru, and replace a lot of the sheet metal that's rusted out, or turn it into a beach truck. But I'm with you.....look basically if your afraid to push another vehicle with your bumper cause you may damage your vehicle? Well then you don't really have a truck................do ya?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddddd now it leaks in the corner of the intake
Redid the gaskets and only used permatex at the end of the valleys. All is well. Still idling around 1100 rpm though. I have pretty good feeling its the IAC. Ill check more into it before i shotgun one on though.

Did you reset the adaptave memory, sometimes removing negative battery cable can do it, sometimes it's better to use a scan tool, might also check for internal vacuum leaks, pull the pcv valve and plug with your thumbs both the pcv opening in valve cover and the pcv vent hose going to air filter assembly, see if there is vacuum present, even though you replaced the plenum plate gasket, I've seen new ones suck in.

I had the battery unplugged for a couple hours while I was doing It. Also reset it with my scangauge 2. Ill throw a vac gauge on it while im diganosing the iac

So long story short, F150 has had a misfire for a while, I drove it to Albuquerque, got off the freeway and there was a knocking sound and it was vibrating and barely moving, pulled into a gas station and its pumping mixed oil and water out the dipstick hole Limped it to the awards banquet, had a friend take my bike to his house, limped the f150 to U-haul's shop for me to pick up later.

Our big wrecker was in Albuquerque today, he was definitely overloaded :smirk:

Time to look into rebuilding a 302
