My buddy has one of them Manx buggies. Said its a hoot when young cops that have never seen one pull you over because they think it's not safe and legal to have on the road. Even had to have a supervisor show up to tell the punk it's legal.
I think the last time my central Calif friend (goes by "fat Albert") and I ran off and hid from such a patrolman we were in his 1300 cc Meyers. Beautiful deep, deep purple with blue flames that appeared and disappeared. He was painting for anyone then. He got to feeling kind of sheepish and went and told on himself, knowing who the officer was. The man told him that there was no harm done, and confided he didnt want anyone else to know that 40 hp and two full sized men got away from him in a 454 powered impala. Goes to show you anything is possible once you hit the dirt.
