How was the AZ dual sport ride out of Wickenburge

Great time and adventure none the less. Choose the "Expert" route Saturday and got what we asked for. During morning briefing they told everyone that a lot the trail were only rocks and boulders now due to the recent monsoons and that they only recommend "expert" riders attempt the 112 mile route. The sweep team was a large group of the "A" class racers from their local organization and warned everyone through out breakfast. They also put a 530cc limit on the trail lol Well halfway through, my bro and I find a guy on a 650cc bike completely wiped and stuck, and his group left him. So being the nice guys we are, we carried that beast out of the hole he was in, and took turns riding his bike up hills (which the bike had no business being on) for him for about an hour until we were completely drained of energy ourselves. We had gone through just about all of our water and knew we could no longer help the poor guy. Luckily a guy on a RZR cruising through gave him a lift and he left his bike behind. Sweep team came through and we followed them, and they had gone through most their water helping stranded other riders. Came up to an insane hill were there was a large group stranded and completely out of energy (too without water, that AZ sun in the desert with temps in the 80's didn't help). The sweep team knew we were in bad shape and at a point where we had to turn back, but the route to the city ahead was about the same distance. So we choose the lesser of two evils and decided to go back the way we came and ride up the nasty hills we came down. After an exhausting and long ride back, we made it to the dinner just as the sun came down with about 85ish miles done on my odometer.

At the dinner, there was tons of riders that had not checked in yet from the "A" route. By the end of it, multiple guys had to leave their bikes on the trail and get lifts out and some guys had to stay out overnight as they had no more energy to move.

Sunday came through, and we decided to take the "intermediate" route with a great group of guys we met saturday, which was around 80 miles. Did it no problem and still had nice fun sections through out it. But I'll say this, with all of the constant forks and sandwashes in the desert, a GPS was the only way of finding your way through. We found a couple lost guys with roll charts that had to follow us in the middle of the desert.

Above all it was a lot of fun, even though saturday didn't work out as we liked it to. But I had no regrets helping that stranded guy, even though it used up our energy. So there is our mini RR!

We actually were thinking about not riding saturday and heading up to your place to visit! :thumb:
