Hello, I am new to dirt bikes. I am aware this question is more of a personal preference however i would like to hear peoples opinions based on my type of riding(off road trails) and the conditions the bikes appear to be in the images and their descriptions. I've ridden a buddy of mines 08 KX250F and loved it so i decided to buy my own. However I'm in a dilemma of choosing between an 13 KX450F or 13 KX250F. Both bike owners are asking 4k. I am 5.8 180lbs, I felt like the 250 was plenty strong, however I am scared of out growing the 250f if i decide to do track or dunes riding.
I will mostly be doing 2 track trail riding. I would like to hear opinions before making the purchase. Thanks
info about each bike.
250F:FMF Q4 exhaust, Rekluse clutch w/ cover, over sized wave rotor, WC engine guards, WC radiator braces, Pro Tapers, FlO pegs, TMD chain guide & case saver, graphics w/ seat cover, DID chain and sprockets, etc....
450F:13250f.jpg 13450.jpg Kawasaki Factory Racing Graphics kit, NEW front & rear tires!! Renthal Gold series racing chain, New Renthal grips, New Oil & Seals in the SFF Air-Forks.

I'm not a 4 stroke fan, but I believe the kx 450f has the best feel of power, suspension, handeling and ergo's of any 4 skin....er 4 stroke I've ridden, if those are your 2 final choices, I'd go with the 450. You will not outgrow it's power. I've always believed I'd rather have more power than I need, than need more power than I have.

Welcome to DBA I used to live in Phoenix, near MMI now up here in Washington....

450 all the way. its like the old 2stroke 125 or 250 dilemma. In a perfect world we would have all gotten 125s (250fs) to become better and more prepared for the 250 (450f) but with how much they cost not many of us can do this. I went from a kx80 to a kx250 simply because I didn't wanna out grow it in a year or two like you don't wanna. I wasn't able to afford the 2 bikes (even if I sold one) in such a short amount of time. You will grow into the power the more you ride it. You can always lay off the throttle but you cant add more when its tapped! Go with the 450 and save yourself some grief.
